Why vegan inclusion: 02. Grow your business

Consumers care about how you treat your staff, and a clear purpose improves innovation and workplace retention.

Businesses that have a clear purpose tend to be more productive and experience higher growth rates, while also enjoying a more satisfied and committed workforce. Research by Deloitte conducted in 2019 shows that these companies report 30% higher levels of innovation and 40% higher levels of workforce retention than their competitors.

Today’s consumers are increasingly discerning when it comes to marketing, and they tend to be more loyal to brands they connect with on a deeper level. In the same 2019 research, Deloitte conducted a poll to find out what factors mattered most to consumers when making purchasing decisions. The findings revealed that the top issues were not price or marketing, but treatment of staff (28%), treatment of the environment (20%) and how the brand supports the communities in which it operates (19%).

By living their values of inclusivity and creating a safe, respectful workplace for all, businesses can proudly and authentically lead with purpose. This approach can generate continued loyalty, consistency and relevance to their customers.

Make vegan inclusion part of your wider commitment to employee well-being, and watch your business grow.
